We needed sun, sea and a stella time ..... on a budget! After scouring air bnb etc etc etc Turkey looked like the cheapest option, so we booked, and knew it could go either way ...

We had never been to Marmaris before and neither of us had been on an all inclusive package holiday. To say the least we were absolutely blown away. The hotel was not what it looked on the internet.. it was BETTER! We can confirm that it legitimately is a 4 star hotel with amazing pools, on the waters edge, and more than enough sun-loungers for every guest on the beach and around the pool. The beach was great with a jetty going out over there water with deck chairs and sun shades on it for guests. The sand isn't white, but plenty of destinations in Turkey don't even have a beach just beach clubs. The staff were incredible, serving everyone with a smile no matter what time of day or how ridiculous the request. We actually tended to make friends with a lot of the staff as it felt more natural than a "guest-staff relationship". It was awesome! Halil was a 19yr old who worked tirelessly and stood out for us, always checking in on us and tending to our every need.

The town of Marmaris is great, they have endless beaches, restaurants, ice cream stalls, bars, cafes, a castle and activities available all day long (or none at all depending on what you want out of your holiday). Some online reviews say that Marmaris is a clubby town. Indeed, there was a bar street, but this is nestled into the old town and far from the majority of the hotels so we heard no noise when trying to sleep. It was also far from the likes of bar streets in Malia, Magaluf etc.

We opted for 2 day trips throughout our week; a boat trip around the surrounding islands and a jeep safari. Both trips were booked through our travel rep from Travel Republic, which he organised for us, and giving us discounts. The cost: £35 pounds for both trips, dirt cheap. The boat trip we went on was on a boat called "The Black Pearl", all drinks were included and also great little lunch spread put on for us as well. They stopped at incredible turquoise bays where we jumped off the boat into the water at every opportunity. 100% recommend taking with you a few snacks for the journey as it is a long day with only a small lunch provided. Also would take ample amounts of suncream as the spots in the shade get taken up quick!

The Jeep Safari was incredibly funny and random. We went along and it turned out to be a huge water fight between the 8 Jeeps in the fleet which was super fun! Lunch was put on for us and included in the price, drinks were extra. They took us to a few beaches and even a small waterfall. Was quite a long day so make sure to take plenty of water and I would definitely suggest taking snacks. Keep everything in a waterproof bag as you will get SOAKED (which they do not let you know, which is a bit wrong, but thats why we are here to advise you. WOOHOO) !!

"Koral Travel".....The only downer or tiny negative thing we could find from the entire trip was the airport transfers. The ride was 1hr 20mins which took us almost 3 hours both ways as the drivers just weren't bothered about anything. We had numerous stops on both transfers, stopping at random road side shops for "smoke breaks" of 20-30 minutes each and also stopping to get petrol. It also wasn't entirely obvious at the airport which company out of 20 was ur transfer so I would ring up Travel Republic to confirm this before you leave.
